5Cord is sturdy and it works.
By Marie K. Gaudioso
It does the job. What more can one say about a cable?
It is the perfect length so I can keep the generator a little further away from windows etc. so exhaust is not as risky and noise is dulled a bit.

5Heavy-Duty Cable Does The Job....
By Rick Smith
I live in the Northeast and after the last power outage we decided to buy a portable generator for our home. Once the generator arrived I had to decide where to locate the connection outside of the house and buy a cable to connect it. This GenTran cable provided the perfect solution since it gave me enough length to locate the generator a safe distance from the house and was rugged enough to handle the weather. The cable is designed to connect a 50-amp generator to your home and has the standard connections required to accomplish this. Buy a cable like this can be a little confusing so to clear things up a little, this cable has a standard "twist-lock" Cxs6364 round female connector on one end that would connect to the box outside your home that feeds your transfer switch. The other end of the cable has a NEMA 14-50 four-prong plug for connection to your generator. This cable is really designed to support a 50-amp generator so be sure to check to see if your generator has the 14-50 connection or the smaller 30-amp L14-30 connection before purchasing to avoid disappointment. I have used this cable through 3 major storms since purchasing it and it has come through with flying colors. Even though there may be less expensive cables available on the site, when making a purchase that is this critical you'll want to stick with a company that has been in the power business as long as GenTran has. This cable works great for me and is a good value for the quality.
